This time last year... getting ready for our first event! Jess (the dog) was very excited as you can tell! So much has happened since then... new workshops, new friends, floods and pandemics!
Following on from the Government announcement last night to extend the lockdown meaasures we have rescheduled the Sweet Pea workshops to the middle of June... this may be optimistic but we will see nearer the time. I have contacted all those that were booked on so please let me know if you haven't heard from me. As it stands the Peppa Pig Walk on Sunday 17th May is still going ahead... but again we will monitor Government advice on a week by week basis... Stay safe everyone and keep your fingers crossed for a lovely Summer!

I am sure it will come as no surprise that with regret I am cancelling the Easter courses at The Old Barn.
I have emailed everyone (hopefully) who was booked on to arrange a refund or a voucher for a future course so please let me know if you have not received it. I will wait and make a decision about the May courses in a couple of weeks. Hopefully see you all very soon! Sadly we have had to cancel next week's Spring Wreath course. I have emailed all of the individuals who were booked on to the workshop so please let me know if you do not receive it.
With the situation changing on a daily basis I am going to assess the other workshops on a weekly basis and so if you are booked on to any of our upcoming courses I will be in touch atleast a week before with an update. In all probability the April ones are likely to be cancelled, however optimistic I am! You will have the choice of a full refund or a voucher for a future course. Doing it on a weekly basis keeps me ever hopeful and will help me manage the admin involved, I hope you understand. Take care everyone x
We’ve had a lovely weekend at the barn celebrating Tilda, Martha and Audrey’s birthdays this weekend! We had a teddy bears picnic and a bake off! We do lots of different party themes at The Old Barn, drop me a message for more info! The bake off is a great idea for tween girls! Jack’s school came for a visit today. This review from the teacher is absolutely lovely! It was such a fun morning! We "picked" wands, made sprout caterpillars and it even snowed! "As a nursery school we wanted to visit the farm with our children, to enhance their outdoor learning. We wanted to incorporate our topic, which was 'Fairies and Scaries'. Helen was very creative with the ideas she came up with. When we arrived it was very well organised and planned. The children had their own baskets and went to find all the natural resources around the farm, to make our creatures. As we came back to the barn, magic fairy wands appeared in the trees for the children to pick. We then went into the barn for a hot chocolate/marshmallows and homemade treats. We then emptied our baskets and made brussel sprout Caterpillars (Caterpillar class!) and our very own take on Edgar the Dragon. We then dipped our wooden wands from the fairy garden, into magic glitter. Helen was constantly on hand to help us all create our amazing creatures. The setting was outstanding and we really cannot wait to return (seasonal, if we can!!) One parent said 'it was the most magical trip she had ever been on'. As we walked out the barn, Christmas music was playing and it was snowing (the children were amazed!) Thank you Helen, for all the lovely little touches (best mince pies ever, for the grown ups!) and incredible service. We cannot wait to return. With love The Caterpillar School Nursery at Radcliffe on Trent Infant and Nursery School." Give the gift of creativity this Christmas!
